Business Controller

We are currently looking for a Business Controller responsible for housing and property development in Finland. The position is based at Peab’s office in Helsinki.

In this role, you will analyze the operations of the business unit and play a key part in supporting the Business Unit Manager, Regional Managers, Department Heads and projects in budget and forecast work as well as reporting outcomes per month and quarter. In addition to this, you will provide support in accounting, tax and VAT issues as well as support the units in this in the acquisition, sale or signing of development agreements. As a Business Unit Controller, you will contribute to coordinating routines and methods within the business area Project Development.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring that accounting and reporting within the business unit is carried out according to Peab's and business area Project Development's overall guidelines
• Responsibility for internal control of the financial aspects of the business unit's operations
• Be part of the business unit's management team and responsible for reporting on financial development

Tasks

• Support the business unit manager and projects in the forecasting process
• Compile and report the unit's forecast and outcome
• Analyze and evaluate the business unit's performance and capital employed
• Implement common routines and templates, and ensure they align with the business area's and Peab's overall practices and standards
• Convey knowledge and insight into applicable laws and regulations
• Advisory and supporting role in tax and VAT matters
• Support for operations related to transactions
• Support to the business in the evaluation and optimization of projects
• Support for project financing

Background

We are seeking a Master of Science in Business Administration with several years of experience as a controller in the construction and/or real estate industry. You have solid knowledge of VAT and tax regulations related to real estate, as well a strong foundation in accounting.

As a person, you are analytical and meticulous, with the ability to see the big picture. The role is broad and involves interfaces, which requires excellent communication skills, integrity and strong business acumen.

• Experience from investments
• Experience from project monitoring and forecasting
• Experience in project financing
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Swedish is considered an advantage
